One more multiswitch/cascade/splitter question

I've read the FAQs and other threads and while I *think* my plan will work, I'd feel much better with some confirmation from the experts around here. So, here's what I'd like to try:

I have a Phase3 dish with four outputs. I would like to take each of those four outputs, split them and run them into a pair of Terk BMS-58 multiswitches (therefore giving me 16 outputs for receivers).

If I get splitters such as the Eagle Aspen P-2150-2-GX 2-way splitter (one port passive), will that work? I believe that all active legs need to be run to one Multiswitch and all passive legs to the other.

Will all 16 receivers (actually 8 dual-tuner receivers) be able to control the satellite normally? If not, how can I do this, short of purchasing a 5x16 multiswitch (which seems very expensive) or cascading three or four 5x8 multiswitches (which seems wasteful and overly complicated).

Thanks.

Yes, that scheme will work. In addition, just make sure that each corresponding input on each multiswitch is connected to the same splitter.

And for those that are wondering, this is only one of two times that splitters can be used in a satellite configuration. The other is with stacked signals.

In case anyone is wondering why. The multiswitch that is connected to the dc passive side of the splitter is controlling the upstream signal, so the non-passive switch needs to connect to that splitter to get the same sat and TPs.
