less picture quality to dvd

I use tivo to go to down Last night I burned 2 dvd's ( 1 dvd for each 2 hour program) of saved tivo programming that I downloaded to my pc. One I recorded using Roxio media creator 8 and the other using Nero 6. The movies were saved in the highest quality on tivo and look perfect transferred over to the computer but are grainy and quite a bit less quality burned to dvd. What is causing the drop in quality? How can I solve that problem?

Anything I can do about that?

what quality setting did you use on Roxio/Nero? 2-pass VBR is usually the way to go. Also, keep in mind that Tivo is 480x480 resolution and not 720x480 like DVD.
