2 Tivos - Same MAC Address?

I just realized the Tivo Desktop is only showing one of the Tivo Series 2 systems. In attempting to setup the one missing, I realized the Mac address and media access key are the same for both.

Am I to assume that one will be the main one connected and the other should be setup as a peer to peer. I have not seen anything on Tivo or this forum that refers to these settings when you have two tivos.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your Media Access Key will the same for all of the TiVos on your account.

But the duplicate MAC address is strange. How are the two TiVos connected to your home network?

The MAC address is unique to the network adapter. You should be able to find it printed on the adapter for each TiVo and for the PC. Also, the MAC address is displayed on the network settings screen of the Tivo along with the IP address.

The MAK (Media Access Key) is for your Tivo account, and has to be the same.
