Arrow Washed-out Picture Color on Series2 TiVo

I have a new TiVo Series 2 140 hr unit. I also have a 1 year old Sony 27" TV. I have cable, but no box. I have my cable connection being split between my TiVo and regular TV (so I can record one thing and watch another.) My TiVo is connected to my TV via S-Video. I am using premium-grade Monster Cables for all connections, including the splitter.

Now that I have that out of the way, here is my question/problem. I have noticed that there is a considerable difference between the picture color coming from the TiVo unit and that coming directly through the TV. The TV seems to be bright and vivid (maybe a bit on the red side, but acceptable). The picture from "Live TV" through TiVo is significantly less vivid, and rather washed out. Like I said, I'm using Monster cables, so I doubt very highly that it's the cables. My Sony TV is top of the line and practically new.

I'm wondering if other people have experienced similar issues? Is there anything I can do to fix the problem, or is this just how it is? I really love my new TiVo, but I was hoping for a better picture than what I am getting.

A couple of things to look at. First the video adjustments on cable channels vs s-vid input can be actually different and the set has memory for each input. Adjust picture settings to be the same on each input (S-vid and rf). Second just because you have monster cable dont assume its working properly substitute a cheap one to try or a composite cable. Third make sure your s-vid cable isnt coiled up are running next to power (ac) wires.

I had a similar problem with a Magnavox TV. The Video input on the TV was very bright and washed out compared to the RF input. I fixed it with a 75 ohm 6dB pad on the TV's video input.
