Tivo Remote buttons are "sticking"

I don't know if this is related, but I just noticed that the Tivo's software has just changed.

whenever I press the a button on the remote the Tivo will act like I'm still pressing the button even after I've quit pressing it.

For example, on the tivo main menu, I will press the down arrow once and then it will keep going all the way down to the bottom. Any help?

I left out a word on my post. I wasn't quite awake.

Whenever I press the DOWN/UP button on the tivo, it will continue to scroll down/up until the end, even though I am not still pressing the button.

If you hit the down button to replicate the problem, and then cover up the IR emitter on the end of the remote with your hand while it's scrolling down, does the prolem continue? In other words, is the problem that the remote is continuously sending the down button's signal, or is the TiVo mistakenly performing the same action multiple times?

i am having the same issue. if i cover the remote it still scrolls all the way up or down. the orange light on the box appears as if the remote is still being pushed as well.
