Fargo "Who Shaves the Barber?" OAD 2014-05-27

Just as I was saying, "Nobody has been killed in this one yet (except the head of the real estate office)...

Not only should Key and Peele have kept their eyes Peeled better, the Fargo crew should have heard the gunshots from downstairs.

The guy had to have told Fargo that Malvo was in Duluth.

I rewatched and what I thought was Molly's blood was the earflap on her hat.

Oh, and that Lester went from Mr. Chips to Tony Montana just like Walter White.

Yeah, Lester, do Sam's wife while you think of how much you hate him.

Lester you rat bastard!

The scene panning up the building was great.

Not just how much he hated Hess, but Lester was doing to Hess' wife what Hess used to do to Pearl before Lester married her.

And thanks to the producers for answering questions quickly ... e.g., fishnado, Molly shot Mr. Wrench and Gus shot Molly, etc.

I miss that part -- what explained the rain of fish?

I loved the mostly non-verbal heartfelt exchange between Molly and Gus as her dad began to wheel her from the hospital room. Very well done!

As expected, Tornado (via TV news broadcast). Though, the frozen lake piece was not explained. Must have been SOME tornado!

The tornado is the least of the holes.

Consider that Gus Grimly had a radio to call for help when he heard shots, but not to find out "Aw Jeeeze, What's that all about?" when he heard the sirens.

We also didn't get an update on Stavros. Maybe they'll leave the case of money out to be found in the next season. It has to be got before the snow melts.

How good a contractor is "Real Estate" when they let Malvo go after the client?

My prediction: The last shootout is Lester, Malvo, and Molly, and Bill gets killed, as or after he finds out that Lester is Heisenberg, so Molly can be Chief.

There was a morning kitchen scene with Lester's brother, wife & son getting ready for the day (gun in son's backpack) as a TV reporter mentioned the tornado picking up fish from a lake miles away from where they had rained down on the road, causing the accident. So it obviously came from an unfrozen lake miles away. End of mystery. Period.

Middle of MN winter: wouldn't any lake miles away besides the Great Lakes be all the way frozen? Even they freeze up around the edges and further depending on the winter.

Well, no. It was presented as a theory. And since tornadoes can't form in the (Minnesota) winter, it's a pretty stupid theory. (There's never been a tornado in Minnesota between November and March.)

I was amused that the hockey game they were watching in the Hospital seemed to be on a flat screen in HD, not that it was around in 1987.

That's the movie. The TV show is in 2006.

Oh, I thought it was a true story that happened in 1987, didn't realize it was a different one. Thanks. But even in 2006 HD wasn't widespread, heck I was a major hospital 2 years ago and there wasn't any HD. It just looked so out of place in the show.

I'm thinking it must have sucked them right up through a freshly-cut ice-fishing hole. It could happen.

More likely they were from Oz. Probably some flying monkeys irked the wicked witch and she turned them into fish.

If you saw the movie, you should have recognized the TV show scene between Molly and Mr. Wrench at his hospital bedside ... it was very similar to the post wood-chipper talk between Marge and "Funny Lookin's" partner in the police car. Nice callback.

I'm sure a lot pressure built up until the tough guy from the bar got sucked out.

Everything's up to date in Duluth.

Here's an even better anachronism for you: if Wikipedia is to be believed, Fox 21 in Duluth didn't have a local newscast until March 2007, and didn't have a morning newscast until October 2013.

But perhaps this is a case of them changing all the names, and everyone was really watching NBC 6.

Nothing happened in Duluth until 2007?
