Copywrite notice, why?

Lately some of the videos I upload to my Tivo won't play. I get a message to the effect that the copywrite holder won't allow it (or some such).

These videos easily play on my PC using VLC media player.

So why doesn't Tivo like them?

These seem to generally be .MKV files but other .MKV files play fine.

I'm using PyTivo to transfer the videos from my PC to Tivo.

We need exact error messages, not "or some such". Preferably, the whole log. Alternatively, point me to some of the problem files.

The copyright* message is just the only way that we have to indicate a non-transferable file to the TiVo. This will happen when we do ffmpeg -i on the filename, and get back errors. You'd see this message before there was actually any transfer.

* Note: not "copywrite".

copyright: The right to copy
copywrite: Write copy (generally in the sense of advertisement text)
