Will I buy a TiVo because some religious nutbag has his face plastered all over the TiVo website? No.
Will I buy a TiVo if the software has been improved? Yes.
TiVo should spend their money on improving the product, not hiring polarizing figures to pose for pictures. Who's next? Donald Trump?

Well, I just watched the 2 vidoes they posted on Youtube with him. I hope to God he gets some acting lessons before they shoot those commercials.

Completely agree. I'm really offended that they chose someone so openly antigay. What in the world were they thinking?

So I repeat, who are they and why should I care? The law has apparently taken care of one, and time will take care of both. If anyone within 100 miles of me knows either name in 20 years, I'll eat my recliner.
Now if I had either one in the sights of my .45, it would be another matter, perhaps, but since that isn't likely to happen, my apathy is firmly in place.

Good for you. Unfortunately, this isn't often the case. Brand recognition is a powerful selling tool. It usually won't triple the sales of a product, but it can easily make the difference between profitable sales levels and unprofitable sales levels.
It should not be the case, and it is utterly disgusting that it is the case, but there you have it.

I am more concerned with the hardware, but software improvement is also very important.

I still think TiVo is simply trying to reach the middle of America and going for mass appeal. It may even be the same Middle America that loves football, NASCAR, Walmart, & Chick-Fil-A. Ellen DeGeneres would simply not have the same appeal to these folks and Tebow still has one of the more popular selling jerseys in the NFL - the most popular of all second string quarterbacks and some first string quarterbacks. He signs with a team that lets him play next year and TiVo will have gotten him on the cheap.

Does this have anything to do with why national broadcasts of Jets games have the camera pointed at Tebow on the sidelines for a larger percentage of time than the game on the field?

So if I don't have a TiVo Premiere I don't have to be subjected to this? Good.
Let the Jests try Tebow in a fake punt formation tonight.

I have seen Tebow ads on Series3 and TiVo HD in TiVo Central.

What team is going to "let him play"? He may be talented, but not as a QB.
Doug Flutie had a heck of a lot more QB talent than this guy, and very few teams "let him play", he had to go to Canada.

Flutie was too short. Tebow has a huge fan base that want to see him play and he had some success in the games he played. He even won a playoff game.

According to Google, TiVo launched a Tebow "Support" page last week. Not sure if it really is new or just happened to be updated a few days ago. Interesting.

If Tivo thinks that having Tebow as a spokesman will increase their sales, I think they are sadly mistaken.
