Overall, I liked the episode. Not into the musical guest.

I thought Adam did a good job.

I'm not a fan of Adam Levine. I might watch this one, I might not.

Ditto. Not familiar with the artist and not really interested in him after listening to him.

It's always a bad sign when the host does several skits playing himself...

I thought this episode was great and had some very funny stuff in it.

I was thinking how could they go from being SO bad last week to being SO good this one?

Great to see a digital short again.

The musical artist? huh? who? what? why?

Adam Levine as full of himself as he appears to be - did a great job.

Hit or miss. Digital short was mildly amusing, but not one of their better ones. At least we know they'll show one from time to time.

Also I find it odd that Adam Levine hosted this week and Maroon 5 is the musical guest next week. Will this be the first time the host came back as the musical guest the next week?

I think the Sopranos Diaries/Carrie Diaries was sorta funny in concept but no so well executed. I rarely like the musical guest so nothing new there. The Catfish segment was OK mostly for stating the obvious about that show. It was better than last week but that wasn't a high bar to jump.

Uh I just got to the first set for the musical guest. So far awesome. YOLO funny. Firehouse sketch. Awesome. Musical guest is ok, but why is a west coast rapper be ripping off Houston's DJ screw so hard? He is good too, and it is a popular song.

Next week is a rerun, I believe.

Anyhoo-I thought this week was hilarious! With the exception of the "Janet" skit, which did not make me laugh at all, I laughed at every skit.

I agree, Adam Levine is full of himself, but he was really funny. the digital short was great-loved Adam Levine with his tinfoil hat-I loved the rumble with Maroon 5, Train, Jason Mraz and - um - yeah, can't remember who else. But it cracked me up. "No slapping, no punching of any kind..."

I don't watch "Catfish" but apparently that guy is just about as full of himself as Adam, so perfect casting! HA!

I love Ariana Huffington- "[besides Hillary], the last thing Rand Paul grilled this much was a possum!"

..and that Rosetta Stone commercial was all kinds of wrong, but funny-amazing how creepy Bill Hader can look-and I loves me some Taran Killam, but man-o-man did he look creepy too! EEK!

..and Biden Bash was the funniest 2 minutes all year! Macho Man Joe Biden, indeed! And yes, the Neil Diamond - impersonator - of the year - participant - was very funny!

Really enjoyed this ep-I thought Adam Levine was funny in the digital short he appeared in previously and I thought, "He could host!" I am glad he did!

I agree with this review. Tuned out the musical guest. Not my thing. But I was impressed with the overall writing this week -- especially compared to the awful writing last week. I wonder why the fat guy dressed as a woman who brought Levine back to her apartment when they could have used the fat female cast member maybe doing a silly voice but playing that very part.

I think it's a little easier to have a guy dressed as a woman talk about how unattractive he is than to have an actual woman do it...

I've just watched a few sketches, and here again, I think having low expectations helps. I enjoyed the monologue through the Soprano Diaries, to varying degrees.

I suppose you're right, but she also plays the part of the teen girls where she is the out-of-touch, unpopular BFF to Cecily Strong's character who is always preferring the new hot-chick on the show. She's great in that.

Now that I think about it, whoever wrote the skit has preference in performers, and they tend to give choice roles to veteran cast members over the newbies. That might play a part as well.

It's his character. He's done it before.

I thought it was mediocre. FF'd through the musical guest as usual.

I'm trying to figure out why NBC is so enamored with Adam Levine. They try to put that guy on every show. I thought the monologue with Jerry Seinfeld was pretty funny as Jerry gave him pointers since he was the veteran "Guy with the Jewish last name, who wasn't so Jewish."

Rosetta Stone was funny as hell. When it started it looked real, then the Thai...

Justin Beiber is the next musical guest/host on 2/9. Next week is a re-run (not sure why, Super Bowl weekend?).

I found the reflection of the cue cards in the windows of the house during the Catfish sketch distracting. You usually don't see that.

I laughed a lot in this ep. The firehouse skit had me rolling. No idea who the musical guest was and don't care. Curious to see how bieber does next live show

I have never heard the term YOLO. I am obviously old, or at the very least unhip.

Urban Dictionary is pretty funny on YOLO.

Yolo

"carpe diem" for stupid people

I think the idea for YOLO (instead of the normal meaning of 'take a risk, you only live once' to the meaning 'be careful you may die, you only live once') is pretty funny.

But the video wasn't.

"Catfish the TV Show" could be funny, but Nev never uses his name like that, and they missed an important physical feature of Nev - a carpet of chest hair trying to escape from the top of his shirts.

I kept expecting that!

The one part that cracked me up the most was the friend/camera guy Max asking if they were ever going to cut to his camera. That would have been better if they would have had Max filming with a cell phone like he does so often.

So you're saying that the next one will be "off". With Justin Beaver as host, I think I'll pass.
