I liked it. Just watched Pilot and E02 yesterday. It's a sitcom, so using my sitcom criteria I found it to be entertaining and something funny.

I enjoyed the characters. I always love the gay boys anyway so that's a given for me unless they are complete jerks. These two guys are very likeable and I enjoy that they are individuals. I like the Ellen Barkin character. I even like the kid (and I'm NOT a kid person!). Love the dog. S/he needs a bigger part.

I'll definitely keep watching.

I thought it was very entertaining. I love the characters and how they play off each other. I really hope this show makes it.

I gave it two episodes, and it just isn't for me either.

For a "sitcom", I found it to be much more "sit" than "com".

I liked Ellen Barkin, though. I think she will transition nicely from movies to television.

I agree with both of these comments. I like the characters so far, and that's a good thing.

But it reminds me of South Park in its pushing of the taste envelope, and doesn't have South Park's ability to do anything they want because it's animated. That makes it seem like outrageous for outrageous' sake.

The third episode
Spoiler:
was so horrible I couldn't even make it through. I did like the pilot, but it's been downhill from there, and I'm deleting my SP.

I have just the opposite opinion. After this episode I gave it a season pass.

After ep 2 I decided against a SP. This might be a show I watch when there's absolutely nothing on or I'm in a hotel room somewhere with out my DVR, but not going to plan to invest 22 minutes a week on it.

that's saying a lot if you can't even devote 22 minutes of your time to watching it. I thought it was pretty good and keep the season pass for now.

I think it is funny enough and heart warming. It Feels real. The characters are consistent and recognize themselves and others.

That kid doing Edie Beale might have been one of the funniest things I have seen in a while.
And she just kept going with it... uncannily good impersonation, too.

The rest is OK but not appointment TV.
But that one bit was awesome

Breaking news: Geroge Takei (Mr. Sulu) will appear on The New Normal. How many episodes he will appear on hasn't been determined yet and I don't know how long we will have to wait until his episode(s) air.
