If you have any doubt of which side you're on, the fact that Brody can 100% trust that the US is not going to hurt his family, while the other guys would kill them in a minute should tell him something.

I had the same thought. I thought maybe I missed some explanation as to why he would be there.

The US killed Nazir's son. What's the difference?

Nazzir wasn't there because he didn't need to watch them load the camera truck. I dunno how they explain if the guy on the ground was supposed to be a look alike.

Nazzir would be back at Terrorist HQ watching and coordinating the entire thing.
We can expect that Nazzir would be at the actual event because HE SAID SO! "I am not going to die as a coward in hiding like Osama Bin Laden."

We might have planned to trigger the truck bomb himself.

It was to go as Carrie said with the camera man and Roya and Brody safe outside of the blast zone, while they video the great victory live for the world to see.

No possible way that Nazzir is a suicide bomber.

Just because of what he said about OBL, doesn't mean he was planning a suicide attack.

It's "Nazir" on IMDB. He might be being pedantic, but that's the proper spelling of the character's name.

Isn't that why they drove him out into the middle of nowhere for a long time in the van, and then why the helicopter went west from there? They were probably specifically avoiding that security apparatus.

Also, does looking down from above make the radar on the AWACS more effective at distinguishing low-flying aircraft from the ground?

I don't think it was an accident at all. I think they considered the school children collateral damage and were going after Nazir with the bomb. And they then covered it up and lied to the world media about it and claimed there were no school kids killed.

Looking down means they see everything. There's no such thing as flying under the radar. They see and ID everything flying.

During the immediately post-9/11 flight prohibition an ornery pilot in Maryland - well outside of DC - took off and figured he'd fly low to make a quick one airport hop. He was intercepted and was in a heap of trouble.

Even outside of the ADIZ, they can watch. Imagine if they got a call from the CIA that they need to track a chopper that just took off from this location. They'd tag it and see its every move.

Even outside of the ADIZ the airspace above 1200 feet is "controlled" where you have the separation rules. And within about 50nm of a major airport you have to have a transponder that gives your altitude. There aren't a lot of spots around BaltoDC that are farther than that from a big airport. Anything flying with no transponder would set off alerts in air traffic control all by itself.

Good, suspenseful episode. I have no idea who's side Brody is on. Heck, Estes and Quinn are question marks.

I did find the 14 foot, floor to ceiling windows and the DC location an unlikely place for a safe house.

His penalty for being an admitted terrorist is death.
Now that you mentioned this - A few episodes ago, Brody had to steal some intel from Estes' safe. Roya gave him the combination and Roya provided the 'distraction' for Estes to leave the room while Brody got this accomplished. Someone had to have given the code to Roya, maybe Estes himself?

I don't think there are AWACS constantly over DC anymore.

But it hardly matters because out in a dark field with no lights around there's no way they were within 35 miles of DC. That's not even half-way through the ring of suburbs that surround it. So they must have started well outside the Special Flight Rules Area, and according to Brody headed west (so out towards West Virginia)

I'm still thinking that Brody is a "bad guy", even though it appears that he is helping us out.
There is too much missing info......the conversation between him and Nazir (that we only caught the end of), the Estes and Quinn thing is interesting since I've often thought that Estes could be a mole.......

So many ways this could play out, given that we are missing a lot of information...I still like it and, yes, there might be a few technical flaws, but come on....it's TV, after all!

Hey, AL CAPONE is a Limey!

We need some border enforcement!

I remember when they were famously bad at it.

I think the first time I was amazed at a Brit doing an American accent was Kenneth Brannagh, in that detective movie. At the time, it was quite noteworthy. Must have been 20 years ago.

I don't believe MBEs are Sirs. I think you need to be Knight Commander (KBE) or Knight Grand Cross (GBE) to be Sir whoever.
