Mini and lag?

I am thinking about getting a Mini to replace my Premier, which is to me is extreme slow doing anything. I have a Roamio which is 10 times faster and more reliable than my premier is. Couple of questions.

1. When changing chennels is their a lot of lag time?
2. I lose 1 turner from my Roamio correct?
3. I can just hook it up to my Ethernet Network on Comcast?
4. Menus etc are they fast and fluid or slow as hell like the premier?
5. No cable card, but does that mean I will not get On Demand stuff?

I have a change to get a mini for $60 is why I am thinking of doing it.

Thanks

1. Not much. Half second maybe.
2. Only while watching live tv. It's released when you hit the TiVo button or after 4 hours.
3. Yes.
4. Very very fast.
5. I get OnDemand on mine.

Do you have the new Summer Update software yet for your Premiere? It's still not fast like the Roamio, but performance is greatly improved.

I got a mini a few months ago and I was worried about the lag too, but in reality its not a problem at all. I rarely change channels using the up and down buttons on the remote and there is a lag there, but again, not a big deal. Overall, the mini feels like a regular DVR to me.
