Fox to re-air Married...with Children pilot

As part of it's 25 anniversary celebration Fox will be re-airing the MwC pilot on April 22 at 7pm. Followed by a repeat of The Simpsons 500th episode and a 2 hour special looking back at past shows.

I'm going to check it out. I havent' watch Married with children since it went off the air. Now I watch Modern Family and Sons of Anarchy. It'll probably seem weird seeing them young again.

I didn't watch all the eps, but I remember getting a chuckle out of "IEE! I have angered the Grand Bastard" from Kelly.

I might give it a look if I'm not watching hockey....but...I'll probably be watching hockey

It's another show that at the beginning the characters were fairly normal, but a few years in, they really became morphed versions of themselves with only their worst traits.

They should do a night of episodes of their most prominent shows, sort of like when The WB went off the air. I could see:
- The X-Files
- Married with Children
- The Tracy Ullman Show
- In Living Color
- Beverly Hills 90210 and/or Melrose Place

Loved the show, as said above, for at least the first few seasons.

It's hard to believe it's been 25 years. I was never a big fan of this show but I remember the day this show first aired and they replayed it back to back to back several times, if I recall correctly).

The only problem is, even if you use only one of 90210 and MP, that's 3 1/2 hours. Only the Emmy Awards get more than three hours of Fox's prime time.

Besides - I think Tracey Ullman might still be mad at Fox concerning the legal issues she had with not getting anything from The Simpsons (her version: her contract said she got anything from characters from her show - Fox's version: that applied only to her characters (the only two regular ones I can think of being Francesca and Kay)). I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of the reasons the original 48 Simpsons shorts from her show were never released on video (except for one or two on each of the early VHS sets).

My idea: have Fox air episodes from these shows that were announced on its schedule at one time or another:
Rewind
Septuplets
The Ortegas
Manchester Prep
Our Little Genius
(some lists include Schimmel and The Grubbs, but I'm not sure if they were ever actually on an announced Fox schedule)
Actually, Manchester Prep and Our Little Genius do have episodes; the two MP episodes were made into the movie Cruel Intentions 2, and two episodes of OLG (which was a game show) were made but not aired because the producer discovered some contestants were told in advance, depending on the version of the story, either a more specific version of their categories, some of the actual questions, or some of the answers.

As an extra added bonus, they can invite the contestants on the unaired episodes of The Rich List (cancelled after one episode, then remade by GSN with lower prize amounts as The Money List), a number of whom reportedly "won" over $100,000 on the show but, as the episodes never aired, were not given the money (and the contracts they signed said that not only could Fox do this, but the contestants waived any right to sue over this).

Ahh, the days when Homer Simpson's voice was simply nothing more than Dan Castellaneta doing his dead-on Walter Matthau impression. (Castellaneta later decided Homer needed a more unique, and stupider sounding, voice.)

I've already got this on my Tivo.
Recorded from one of those OTA retro channels.

It will be interesting to see if anything was cut in the recording I have compared to what FOX airs (provided they air the episode in its entirety).

Were the Al/Peggy roles somewhat reversed in the early episodes? I vaguely remember early episodes where Al was the horny one but Peg wanted nothing to do of him.

Heck, yours is almost certainly *minutes* shorter than what Fox will air, even if they don't air the *original* length show.

I virtually never watch "reruns", since they're not the entire show. Once in a while, I will catch an individual episode if I missed one out of a ton of shows.. but in many cases, I'll try to get the DVDs to see hopefully _closer_ to the original version, even though DVDs often have music changed... One current exception is "Undercover Boss: Abroad", since that's first run here, though probably edited from the original broadcasts. But e.g. I usually don't watch Top Gear (the original) on BBC America, since it's cut from the original airings. Though apparently even the ones I saw on netflix streaming last year were cut too.
