PVR and External inputs

Hi all
I'm in need of a box that can take the output of a freesat box and be able to record.
What I want to be able to do is pause live TV

I've seen some old Thompsons TIVO Scenium PVR10 on ebay
Would these be able to provide that functionality.

I dont need it to be able to schedule recording or anything like that - just pause the video from an external input

Is that doable?

Thanks - Yeah SCART and composite output so should do fine.
Ok then I might go for one of these. My other alternative was DVDR/HDD boxes, but those seem to be extremly expensive for second hand boxes.

The reason I want to do this is that I've got my Freesat box tuned in to German RTL for the Formula 1 coverage, but I need a way to bring the picture into sync with the 5Live radio feed.
Usually the audio is ahed of the video and I've been able to pause that, but with so many sports on, last weekend the only commentry was from the bbc website, and that was way behined the video.

With a busy summer of sports ahed, I suspect the same thing might happen again
