I'm liking the show, and am forced to consider it in a different universe from the books. Aside from the name/gender changes, the sequence of events differs greatly from the information we were given in the books about Will and Hannibal's relationship.

I was hoping they could mesh it better. But, I'm excited to see where it goes. I just wish the lighting wasn't so dark.

I like Hannibal for a host of reasons. Mads Mikkelson is fantastic in the role of Hannibal and has a solid supporting cast (or at least, he did ). The cinematography and musical score add to the overall surrealism of the show. It's an art form not seen before on TV.

Aside from being a master criminal, Hannibal is a survivor above all else. This is definitely not a show for the squeamish. It is both bizarre and beautiful at the same time. It's like Martha Stewart on PCP. I think it's pretty clear that the writers are completely deranged and in desperate need of psychiatric help of their own. I just hope they can maintain the momentum with a new supporting cast. I look forward to the next season.

I can't add much, but yeah!

So, who do we want on next season? Besides Abigail and Gillian Anderson.

I think Tony Shaloub.

I'm pretty sure Abigail isn't coming back unless Hannibal has somehow managed to find a way to resurrect his victims.

Do we know Jack, Wil, and Anna are dead? It seemed ambiguous to me. The injuries inflicted on Wil seemed purposely not as serious as those inflicted on Abigail.

No, we don't.

*book spoiler*
Spoiler:
Wasn't Will the one who caught Hannibal in the books?

Abigail is the only one that was dealt a fatal wound as far as we know. Everyone one else just looked like they were circling the drain.

Well, that was quite the season ending.

I didn't really feel like anybody was necessarily dead. Well, realistically, I think the girl would have bled out enough to be pretty much dead. Earlier on the cops, or 911 or something, were called so I can see help arriving before everybody died.

My thoughts are that Abigail is dead. Jack looked like he stopped breathing so I think he's dead, but TV magic might bring him back. Dr. Bloom is alive, but might be paralyzed since it looked like she landed on her back and didn't move at all afterwards. The last scene in the house was a POV shot from Will, and it faded to black. It could be that Will died or that he just blacked out.

If only one ambulance arrives the EMT's might have to make judgement calls on whom they save.

Was it just me or was the 911 response kind of slow? Maybe Hannibal lives out in the sticks to avoid nosy neighbors.

Some potential spoilers for next season in an IGN interview at http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/...ason-3?page=2:

Spoiler:

IGN: So we’ve joked about it, but basically, your three heroes are all in a horrible position at the end of this finale.

Fuller: Oh yeah, they're all in the process of dying.

...

I think the fun in frustration is, oh my god, basically the main cast, except for the title character, is lying dying, and you won't know until episode 2 of Season 3 who survived. You won't even know in the first episode who survived.

You mean the 911 response was realistic for the DC area?

I have to admit that I didn't see Abigail being alive coming. Nor Du Maurier being in on it.

The way I score the deaths is:
Abilgail 100-0
Will 50-50
Jack 50-50
Alana 25-75

Again, I have to comment on how visually stunning I find the show and I thought that the split screen conversations were interesting.

I agree 100 percent on this. The dual conversations will was having was executed brilliantly. I loved how they brought his face together at the end.

Such a fantastically trippy, surreal, and gory show. Love it. The finale was as blood-soaked as any GoT or TWD episode - I couldn't believe it was on a broadcast network.

I think Abigail is dead for sure - you don't really recover from that type of wound. I would be shocked if Will and Jack don't recover, even as dire as their injuries looked. Alana is a 50-50 to me, I could see her being paralyzed.

Binge watched the two seasons this past week. The first few episodes were fantastic. Incredible visuals and amazing food porn. But then the latter part of season 1 was meh. Season two was better though with the "Will as pretend serial killer" storyline. Not sure how I feel about the season finale. Will have to ruminate over it for a bit.

As next season, given how Cynthia Nixon was going to arrest Jack and Will, I think it's more likely that they're the fugitives, not Hannibal. After all, what evidence do the FBI have on him?

Three witnesses (assuming they all survive), all saying the same thing, goes a long way for their credibility.

Maybe. But weren't they suppose to arrest Will? Also, Crawford had to turn in his badge and I'm sure he was under orders to stay away from Lector. So two of the witnesses might be considered biased.

Also, what kind of long game was Hannibal playing with Gillian Anderson? What was the upside in making the FBI think that she had flipped?

I don't think it matters much when you have three different people saying, "Hannibal Lector tried to kill me tonight".
Now they may not let Jack and Will go after Lector (even if they were in any shape to), but I'd think that's enough for the FBI to go after him.

I guess that Du Maurier was sent in as a way to ascertain if the FBI was really suspicious or not.
