Special channels added for Olympics?
I just now noticed that there are three new channels popping up on my Tivo, all specified as "NBCU" and touting Olympics coverage in the near future. Haven't heard anything from the cable company about them yet. Anybody else seeing something like this?

Yup, those are the ones I'm seeing on Suddenlink cable in San Angelo.

When I looked up the TV schedule on nbcolympics.com, I entered my zip code and provider (Comcast) and it listed 2 channels (Specialty: Basketball and Specialty: Soccer) as being available, but I cannot find them and Comcast's channel listing on their site no longer seems to list channel numbers when you enter your zip code.

After searching various websites (Comcast, TiVo, TitanTV, etc...) without success for the channel numbers, I found them by accident (I transposed a couple of digits when changing channels and ended up on the Olympic Soccer channel instead). I found the Basketball channel one channel below that.
They are both labelled "HD - NBC OLY" and have no programming data whatsoever, not even a title...which means the only way to record them is manually.

You will probably only see stuff when games are actually being played. Otherwise they sit there with a "sign-off" screen. Check later in the day or early evening.

We got 1770 Olympics 3D, Brighthouse Tampa. Fun to watch a split screen channel on my non-3D television. Maybe if I blink my left/right eyes really fast ...
