On-demand available on MSO Tivo but not on retail Roamio

Has anyone else run across this? It's annoying that I don't automatically get on-demand on my Roamio while my cable company advertises Tivo as a rental option complete with on-demand capability.

Are you with Comcast? You should be able to get your CableCards set up properly so you can get On Demand.

Comcast does not rent TiVo to customers. And no, there is little chance a non-comcast retail tivo DVR will get on demand. The cable outfits make a ton of money on renting them. You will most likely save substantial dollars with a retail tivo, so you need to make a call as to how important on demand is to you.

Comcast already supports on demand on retail Tivo units. Just not in all areas yet.

Nope. Midcontinent. ~50% owned by Comcast from what I read.

They even have an Accessing On-Demand Tivo guide.

But no On-Demand on a retail Roamio. I haven't called them yet though. I didn't figure tech support could do anything for me.

Other than the couple retail TiVos, ppv and vod is not supported. My cable co is the same, their TiVo supports it but my retail ones one their service don't.
