Musical booking: all of them
That's funny, that's why I record all of the late night shows.. though I'm getting tougher on what I keep (esp since I haven't converted ANYTHING over the years to MP3/AAC). There's a lot of songs I like but not enough to buy, or maybe I'll like one song then realize later the same band has another song I like and get the album.

BTW, Geoff has been live for quite a while now.

I FF through the vast majority of Craig's shows. As I said above, I sometimes keep the musical guest, and once in a rare while watch a guest (someone from Big Bang Theory, or a few other guests who really get along with him, like Julia Roberts used to with Letterman)..

Along with music, I skim through the rest of the shows and watch...
TS: Jaywalking, headlines
Kimmel: some of the 'bits' they do with real people, though the "we're lying to people to get their stupid reactions" is getting a bit old so I skip those often lately
Fallon: Virtually all of the game show segments, the band making up songs for the audience members, some of the other weird audience skits
Conan: Fan Corrections
Letterman: entire show (but skip watching the musical guest whether or not I'm going to keep it), though like a lot of non-sitcom/drama scripted stuff, I watch it faster than realtime.. I used to even convert it to listen to the audio as a podcast sometimes. I still have a ton banked up, and lost a ton when my S3 drive died..

While Richie Sambora's music is high quality and he seems to be working hard to make this a successs, I feel that this experiment is really messing up the dynamic of the show. I'm glad it is temporary. Craig and Geoff work great together. Craig, Geoff and Richie is one too many.

I had the same reaction. The rhythm and flow of the show is completely distorted by Sambora and the band. It also makes it feel more like a traditional late night talk show, with Craig sitting at the desk as the band plays a guest on. I love Craig's cold opens, especially when he has members of the audience. Those are gone as we get the band playing.

I don't tune in to Craig to see a traditional show.

I noticed that on the monologue Craig screwed up the reading of a joke, so he does have some jokes pre-made on cue cards.

I'm not liking the band either. I think they're trying too hard to fit the band in to stuff, and it's not working. At least tonight's the end of the experiment.

It was a fun change but it will be nice to get back to normal.

Craig makes every interview about himself.

This is often true depending on Craig's whim and his degree of interest in the guest.

Johnny Carson had an incredible talent for allowing his guest to shine. He would understand when they were trying to set up a joke and would support them as needed. Whatever the guest was there to promote was promoted to the hilt. That is the normal model of a talk show that everyone expects to see.

Craig is nothing like Carson. Craig is there to create what he perceives to be an entertaining show. He repeatedly steps on guest jokes and stories. The promoted book/show rarely gets more than a brief mention. He simply is a different type of host. It clearly annoys some of the guests. It bothers me too if the guest is someone I really want to hear but that is his style. That is probably why he is on the Late, Late Show and not the Tonight Show.

I agree. The thing is, though, compared to Johnny, ALL of the modern hosts make the interview about them instead of their guests. Jay Leno is especially bad about it.

All the shows have their 'flava' and the guests have to go along. It's not just Craig.

It just seemed incredibly uncomfortable. I didn't like her before and I like her less now.

I've seen her on a few different late night shows and she's an awful guest. Answers have to be dragged out of her. It's painful.

It may just be her lack of a personality but she didn't come across as particularly intelligent either.

Nice legs though.

Yeah her outfit was awesome. I never found her particularly attractive, but this appearance has me rethinking that.

She almost acted like she was there under duress and just wanted to get it over with.

It cracks me up that Secretariat has become a regular part of the show.

Why? He just bobs his head. I don't get it.

Craig's segments are too short. He had Betty White, and then Morena on and then "we're out of time."

Thank FSM the band is gone.

It cracks me up that before Secretariat had his own stable the two interns had to stand offstage in costume every night just in case Craig rang the doorbell, and most nights he never did so.

And I'm glad the band is gone too. I hope Craig wasn't so enamored of them that he insists on a band every night. I suspect it was Craig who thought Secretariat was so funny he needed to be part of the show every night.

And the intern playing the back end of Secretariat thought he was getting a raw deal.
