Why would anyone watch a show about a serial killer and think that they weren't at some point going to show or imply that a serial killer hurt animals? That's pretty much a given in most works of serial killer fiction.

You know what I don't need or want to see on tv (or think kids should be exposed to - and please, let's not say the show airs at 10:00 and kids shouldn't be watching - we all know better)? Animals being tortured and / or killed. IMO it has no place on television.

HUGE turnoff.
I am one of those that can't stand animal torture, but this is TV and know for a fact no animal was harmed in the making of the show. If the idea bothers anyone that much maybe this show isn't for them, and should move on.

This show is an extended horror movie, they need to throw things in our face to scare us about how horrible the antagonists are. I half expect to see much worse in the future episodes as the show tries to keep the "shock" value alive.

It's a sad state when people value animal life over human, especially when it's fictional. They didn't even glorify it, they called the character a sick bastard for doing it.

What is your kids going to think when they see you get more worked up over the dog than you do the young woman?

And I think it is sad when any life is considered value-less.

Audiences have been desensitized to violence against humans since the invention of moving pictures.
Animals, not so much.

And, more importantly- people are allowed to feel how they feel.

Could they please show graphic scenes of Canada geese being killed? I know where they can get some for the show.

No I don't...because there was no animal shown being tortured or killed during the show. So show me what I missed.

You're gonna have to ask whomever posted the warning first in either the pilot or the 'critics blast' threads.
I only watched out for it because I had been warned in one of those threads previous to my viewing the show- if that warning was in error it's not my fault.
So I didn't even see what is being talked about because I closed my eyes the moment I saw the puppy.

Really it wasn't even the mangled dog corpses that got me. It was the shot of hundreds of homemade "missing puppy" flyers.

Sorry I should ask for more gratuitous scenes of young women being graphically killed. My bad.
