So I broke down and got another Elite/XL4 (4th one) and I want to test it out with the new fall update that just came out. I set it up this morning, and finally got it to go to the 7 day trial period so I can record stuff and use it. I had to connect several times to get the guide data, and I guess it had to do some indexing. Finally this evening it got to the point to where it will let me record stuff, and it says it has to be activated in 6 more days. I've tried to connect a few more times to try to get it to download the new fall update, but it downloaded and installed the previous one. I called Tivo and of course they want me to put it on contract, but I dont want to do that yet until I can tell if its gonna act right or not. I even went and put it on that "priority list" so maybe that will help to get it. Still nothing after 2 more connects to the mothership.
So my question, is there some reason it wont let me have the update? Am I going to have to activate it before it will let me have the update? Is it possible it will come in the next day or so maybe? This is so frustrating
