Happy Premiere Famiy

I just recently purchased a Premiere for my daughter as a college graduation gift. This brings all TiVos in our household into the Premiere family. She previously had a S2DT. It's amazing! Finally we have the TiVo setup we've wanted since the days we bought our first TiVo back in 2000.

Everything works seamlessly, we can all schedule using our iPads/iPhones. Watching from one box to another is painless. It's like we have one huge TiVo serving all TVs in our home... and 10 tuners to boot.

Our Premieres work great. Currently no issues (hope I'm not jinxing things). The HD menu improvements with the last update have increased usability of the To-Do list, Season Pass mgr. etc... and actually gotten me back to using those screens willingly.

I also use Kmttg and PyTiVo to archive shows we want to keep on our server. I can control almost all aspects of our TiVos from these programs, making organizational chores a breeze.

TiVo seems to be actively upgrading service and adding features (AOL, Spotify) and actually seems interested in saving their brand. (I had my worries over the past few years)

If they could just add an easy way to schedule on "any" available tuner and push conflicts to open tuners on other boxes I would truly be in heaven.

Thanks TiVo!

Just bought my wife a Premiere to replace her S3. Now all TiVos in our house can stream between one another, we can both use the TiVo Stream to watch shows on our iPads and we can both schedule using our iPads/iPhones.

Like you this is the setup I've wanted since I first got TiVo 12 years ago. In the past I've accomplished it to some effect using distribution systems with IR blasters, etc... but it was always a PITA. The Premiere streaming is just so much more seamless and easy to use.

Certainly the series 4 platform is a huge improvement overall compared to series 3. Once in a while I'll use my wife's S3 OLED unit and having to use slow MRV to watch a show from another unit feels like ancient history. MRS is really, really great.

Personally, though, I'm looking forwards to a lot speedier series 5 hardware to run the HDUI which is just way too slow as is, especially on 4 tuner units. This includes all the Flash HME apps as well (YouTube, Netflix, etc). Basically anything Flash related on the current hardware platform is too slow.
