kmttg jar not opening right
I rework my computer because of motherboard problems. I forgot to install java when I installed kmttg vop7t. The file the you open only read kmttg.jar. I then remembered to install java. I tried to open the kmttg.jar but a box came up asking what do you use to open the file. I chose note pad.
How can correct this problem? I have the same thing with auto push

Quickest way: Start > Run > cmd.exe
Code:
ftype jarfile="%programfiles%\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*
assoc .jar=jarfile

Edit: An alternative:
Start > Run > runas /user:administrator cmd.exe
Code:
ftype jarfile="%programfiles%\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*
assoc .jar=jarfile

Windows 7 Prem Same Prob
I am having this same problem - I had KMTTG v7 working before with Windows XP, but needed to replace the MB - when doing so I also changed over to Windows 7 Prem 64 Bit and I installed to a new hard drive and I am not using my old hard drive.
I downloaded the KMTTG v8 Zip file and unzipped to C:\KMTTG, but did not download JAVA first. I then downloaded JAVA 7 and attempted to open KMTTG v8 (the .jar file) and it has not worked. I tried adding the file association via the CMD line as Orangeboy suggested but no go.
Any suggestions??????

Search for javaw.exe on your computer and then use full path to where it is found in the ftype command above posted by Orangeboy.

I did that.
javaw.exe is locate in C:\Program Files (86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe
I put that into the first CMD line and hit enter and then put in the assoc command and hit enter, but still kmttg.jar will not even do anything

Open a CMD window and execute the following 2 lines and see what happens:
cd C:\KMTTG
"C:\Program Files (86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" -jar kmttg.jar
(I've not tried kmttg with Java 7 so not sure if it runs with it).

That worked except I had left out an "x" from the (x86) part of the location, but I added it to your string and now I have KMTTG working.
Thank you so much for your help.
