There's absolutely no way that cartoon Dick Dastardly-ish villain Admiral is dead but it looked to me like a big stock of munitions blew up on the ship as our heroes sailed away. I thought that ship was toast based on the last huge explosion.

i'm going out on a limb...wouldn't it be easier for admiral putin to find another nice, intact, abandoned ship, instead of trying to make all those repairs?

there seems to be a lot of abandoned everything in this series, and they would be safe from the virus as long as everyone on board was already dead.

Well, depending on their location, it might a 500 or so mile swim to the next available Rooskie ship, or any warship, period.

Assuming, of course, that the Admiral's ship was blowed all up.

i was thinking the rooskie crew escapes with their lives on motorized life boats, and sets out to find their new warship, finding temporary ships in between to help carry them along their journey...a whole new subplot!

Some chewing gum and duct tape and it will be back in action by the last episode of the season.

Oh, well then. You're talking about a series of eps that will, no doubt, carry over right into next season.

They would have to be pretty careful with dead bodies, wouldn't they? I heard them mentioning that you could get Ebola from the dead bodies that are lying around. That would be a nasty job.

if i'm remembering correctly (and i haven't paid too close attention), the series has established this virus must be transmitted by a live "host", so dead bodies aren't infectious.

but, hey, it could mutate, and suddenly become airborne...i've been waiting for it to happen.

Good episode.

The best part for me was Tex's reactions to the Doctor kissing the captain.

Admiral Putin should have been suspicious of the kiss. I definitely was.

That kiss took WAY longer than it should have to pass a note. Maybe it was stuck under her tongue. Maybe it was written in French??

Except it reinforced his belief that the reason she was willing to do the swap was because of their relationship.

Do people expect the vaccine actually works? or are we going to spend the entire next season trying to find 'infected immune scientist guy', because his DNA does in fact turn out to be some critical component?

As far as Admiral Putin, I expect him to simply find another ship, or a submarine. His current ship looks pretty well shot. His crew is undoubtedly infected due to scientist guy wandering around. He needs to hop into a raft and get out of there, fast. There are probably submarines lurking out there with uninfected crews. He just needs to find one, and pop up next season at a particularly inopportune moment.

Okay, caught part of this ep again this morning. I'm pretty sure the suppressor would have fit while in the case, but I can almost hear the script meeting where someone says "It needs more tension." Maybe they threw around the idea of having the doc and the Russian grappling over the gun, but that wouldn't be realistic. But, having her struggle with the gun, (she's an inexperienced doctor, not Lara Croft, for Pete's sake), would be plausible.

Only one guard in the room, and he seemed to be unarmed, strains credulity though.

Viewing that explosion at the end, idk if the Russian ship sunk, but if it didn't, they're gonna need to paddle to the next port of call.

Loved Tex's reaction to the kiss

I can't wait to hear her explain it to him.

The actress who plays the CDC doctor also played Laura Croft in a movie I think.

I was wondering. Since I thought AJ had played Lara in the movies.

She was the model for Lara Croft for the Tomb Raider games in the late 1990's.

EDITED to clarify: I don't think she actually did mo-cap. (As Rob said below) she was the human that EIDOS rolled out as "Lara" at publicity events, promotions, trade shows, photo shoots, etc.

So in hindsight, I don't think that Lara was modeled after her; more like she was chosen as a Lara model because of her appearance.

They used to hire models to "play" Lara Croft in ads, at conventions, etc. Rhona Mitry was the most famous of them.
