Funny this thread started out with EVERYONE hating it, and now, the majority of the later posts are people who liked it.

Hey! I was reply number 3, a positive reply about the show! Though, yes, there is a lot of negativity on page 1.

We finally watched the pilot episode - based on the thread's earlier posts, I expected it to be unwatchable. So maybe it's because my expectations were so low, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It won't be my favorite show, and there's a very good chance the entire premise will get old very quickly, but I (and my wife) found it "good enough" to keep the season pass for now.

I heard this advertised on TV this morning as ABC's "NEW HIT COMEDY!!!"

I wonder how many weeks before this NEW HIT COMEDY!!! is canceled?

It's ridiculous to declare anything a hit or a flop after one episode.

I pray to Cheeses that the people who posted their hatred for this show will stay out of future episode threads. Please, Cheeses, hear my prayer. Ah men.

I always laugh when NBC says 29 Million people tuned it to watch "series name here". What they fail to mention is that's the total number of people who watched ALL episodes combined. And how do they know when Neilsen only uses a small sample. It's just a guess anyway.

It's advertising. Stretching the truth is part of the game (or in other words, lying )

I have noticed this quite often for all the years I've been here. It's like Newton's Law, action reaction. A thread will start with positive or negative opinion. Most agrees for the next 30 or 40 posts. Then one person posts an opposite opinion. All of a sudden you have a bunch of posters agreeing with that opposite sentiment. Then the thread deteriorates to both sides trying to defend their opinions.

And yet, as I look at the first page of the thread, I see 5 positive and 5 negative reactions.

Re-reading the first page, it was about 40-60 hate it to love it (I get 30 posts per page). But the first 12 or so was about 8-4 hate it. But the hate it was not even lukewarm reaction...it was that it REALLY sucked.

I watched the first episode and dropped it. Was just coming to unsubscribe from the thread.

Same here- it is much, much better than expected, and certainly funnier than many comedies on the air right now

I am still thoroughly enjoying every episode. I was afraid the novelty of it would wear off but that has not been the case at all. In fact I've found myself looking forward to it now.

I liked every episode until the last one, which was just ok. When you break it down, it's a typical fish out of water story, but...what makes it an interesting dynamic is that the "fish" changes with each episode. In one episode the earthlings are the fish out of water in a neighborhood full of aliens and in the next it's the exact opposite. I think if they keep doing this, it can stay fresh. I'm still laughing at the "dumb". But heck, "dumb" is funny sometimes!!

Intesting, I thought the last episode (first day of school) was the best. It actually had be laughing out loud a couple times which was a first for me with this show.

I might have to rewatch it. I was kind of tired and may have dozed off a couple of times. I thought the episode before that was the best so far where:

Spoiler:
The human friends come to visit and the aliens try to "fit in" The alien wife was hysterical playing a NJ Housewife and looking at the camera and talking as they would on the show.

ABC has picked up the second-year Washington drama and the freshman comedy for full seasons. The network today confirmed it was adding nine episodes to its earlier order of 13.

...

The Neighbors, which has grown for three straight weeks, has been averaging 6.8 million.
