South Park 04/18/2012 S16E06 "I Should Have Never Gone Ziplining"

I have to say to me at least it was one of the funniest episodes I've ever seen. The narrator's gravely voice slowly and accurately recounting what was going on in Cartman's stomach was insane. And of course the dramatization on the boat ... wow.

I am still laughing at the Magical Helicrapter, 7-turdy-7, and Poo-Choo Express ...

Who were those actors they got to play the boys? Were they anyone famous?

Long story short. I thought that episode was hilarious. My wife was even laughing at it, and she hates that show. I thought I was the only one who felt that way with those "group activities". We had a few experiences like that on our honeymoon in Hawaii.

I need to get myself some Diet Double Dew, and some good gnar-gnar.

Really? I thought it was the worst ever. I only was mildly amused with the real life re-enactments.

This episode (describing what was happening in Cartman's bowels, the re-enactment with actors, etc) was a parody of the show "I Shouldn't Be Alive." I take it you haven't seen that show? I've got four sitting on a Tivo now. One, for example, involves a guy who flips his quad bike and is stuck under the bike for days. Others involve plane crashes in the Australian outback, capsized sail boats, etc. The three-hour tour (re Gilligan's Island) is a typical theme - a simple planned excursion or activity goes horribly wrong leaving people trapped for days. Also, it often animates things happening inside the body due to effects of dehydration, snake bite, altitude sickness, hypothermia, hyperthermia, or other maladies.

Yeah I recognized it but still thought it sucked. I think it was the actual voice over guy from the countdown to disaster shows.

I thought it was funny, despite not knowing what show it was they were parodying (and enjoys ziplining). Not a home run, but the best so far this half-season.

Not really. They all have previous credits in various things, but no names most people would recognize.

Brandon Hardesty (Cartman) was Lars in Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, and Eli Bildner (Kyle) has been on House (five years ago), Bones, Parenthood, and Desparate Housewives.

Isn't South Park totally against ever letting anyone famous have significant roles?

I thought this episode sucked. I had no idea what they were parodying. Lame....

I liked it, laughing through most of the episode. I didn't like the real actors, real scenes (whatever you want to call it)

I didn't like those parts either. It was LOL to see real actors and real life film and stuff, but the execution was poor, IMO.

I didn't like it either. But I suspect the whole point of that was the Mr. Hankey site gag.

The voice-over guy reminded me of Whale Wars.

Totally great episode, probably the best of the season. I enjoyed every minute of this ep, and I don't usually post in this forum about eps, but felt I had to for this one. I just saw it last night, and am still thinking about it.

It's also not linked to any specific current events like many are, so I bet this ep will still be a good one, years from now.

I though this was the best of the season so far (not a top 10, but pretty good). Funny, but son and I were watching The Amazing Race and the first place team won a trip to one of the Caribbean islands and the voice over said that it included a zipliing tour. We both looked at each other and started laughing hysterically.

I've ziplined and actually thought it was a lot of fun

I didn't know what show it was parodying but my son did. I just assumed it was one of those Travel Channel shows ore whatever. Funny even not knowing the show.
