Why mess with a formula that's working?
I see it the same way. They messed with what worked the first two seasons for no reason. I thought perhaps there's a new writing staff or new show runners.

Does a cable network like TNT meddle in the production of their shows in a way that the big broadcast networks might?

I wonder if all the location shooting of S1 and S2 was pretty expensive and they decided to trim costs by trying to shoot more of S3 on fixed sets.

Yes they do. Crusade was a prime example.

Yep. I'm still mad at TNT for the Crusade fiasco.

The whole Lexi subplot was a terrible left turn. I'm not sure I'll watch next year if she returns.

You and me both. Now it would fit in nicely with TNT's direction.

Pretty much every storyline this season was just horrible.

The spikes in Maggie and love triangle.

Super baby Lexi goes to the dark side.

Weaver's daughter made into Alien.

The best episode was a throwaway one that did not really advance the plot much, but it was the one with the two guys capturing Tom. And it was a C episode at best. This season was a complete failure.

Even I, who like to see the new Lexi, did not follow why the coccoon since she seems to come out the same, plus I expected some nudity there and was disappointed. I don't get why Cochise has no spaceship to go to the moon with, either. Lots of holes in the writing.

Hitler youth brainwashing.

I am sure there were even more storylines, but YES that one is right up there!! That was another failure this season. What happened to this show?? Just painful...

Hey, you, Espheni boy, maybe you shouldn't wind your toys too tightly. They might tend to separate you from every other part of you.

Ah, too late.

It's amazing that a species as advanced as the Espheni don't know as much as humans do about gravity!

(Or maybe it's just Hollywood scriptwriters who don't know as much as humans do about gravity...)

I chuckled that an episode after Matt almost got the most important people of the 2nd Mass killed because he ignored his father, he again defied his father and could have killed even more people if he had pressed the wrong button or pulled the wrong strings.

At least Pope got his butt kicked this episode.

I don't give anything even resembling a crap about the Mason family drama.

I'm pretty sure I'm cancelling the SP after this season but I still hope Lexi gets killed soon. What a terrible character.

Watched the final three eps last night. They were OK, not great. Just glad the season is over.

I have to wonder, if the Espheni have wireless electricity technology that can beam all the way from the moon, why did they have that blimp that hovered over the ghetto and supplied power to the fence through a tether?

The Moon is DC and the fences are AC, so the blimp serves as a power inverter.

To keep the blimp from floating away?

It will be interesting to see what the new alien species are for next season. They seem to be making them out to be some sort of Siren race.

I was all set to quit this series after the finale, and then the last scene was quite interesting, so I'm at least in for the season premiere next season. After that, all bets are off.
