I have, for the past 6 months, been trying to get kmttg to work as a service on my computer. Now, I have built another computer, and I get the exact same error messages and problems on the new machine (ruling out all hardware causes for my problems). Finally, after finding a tip on an obscure blog, I've messed with the Javaw.exe file, and am making some progress, but now all I can get is a "Status=start_pending".
It never starts.
I've run everything as an administrator, I've added shows to the transfers list (I know you need at least one), I've run the files from their folder locations rather than from the GUI.... and yet it doesn't work.
All I want to do is have auto transfers work, and be able to see my PC from my Tivo menu to pull shows when needed.
The amount of hoops I've been having to jump through has made me wonder whether or not kmttg is actually being used by anyone, or if it's abandon-ware and I'm wasting my time. Because to me, it seems like it's totally and completely broken - more than any software I've ever encountered.
So - it is even possible to get it to work? It seems no....
I'm using Windows 8.
