This is exactly where I am. I really really want to like this, but unfortunately, of all the episodes, only 2 have even remotely interested me. The one about the clergyman's quest to reclaim his church and this past one. Other than that, it's been mostly boring. I keep saying one more week and I'm done, yet, this past week's episode is keeping me interested at least one more week.

The way he looks at the daughter's friend is creepy. I wonder where they are going with that.

Much like Lost we are presented with a group of characters with huge flaws. The difference is, that on Lost, there was a likable side to most, if not all of them. We could root for the Losties to overcome those flaws. This bunch? Totally unlikable. The Chief is the only one I could remotely root for, and then he goes off on the dry cleaner and makes me hate him again.

Yea, it would be creepy if he sleeps with his daughters friend, who I'd think was 16/17 years old. Why is this girl walking around in her black bra?

I do feel like he was responsible for the family break up. The cheating would be my guess. I need to find out.

I do feel sorry for him. But I feel, it's his fault in some way.

As for the GR, I don't really understand them either. And if they just kept what they believe in their church and at their home, I'd be ok with them. But they seem to insist that everyone be subject to their religion. Stealing pictures and painting everything white is over the line for me. Keep your religion to yourself GR!

Does the GR think that there is no point of life after the "rapture"? That the good and just people were taken by God and those that remain were left behind for some sin they did? I don't know, but some how I think they will do something to the residence of the town that will be worse than taking the pictures of loved ones.

again no.

the woman whose body we saw being cremated did not disappear. she died and the body was shipped there for forensic processing. there was nothing to imply that the other bodies were bodies that "disappeared" by way of some government entity.

The previous episode showed how the Feds deal with cults. They stormed the compound with the Sheriff's son, and started shooting without any provocations. This is the norm, not the exception.

I think the people still believe the event was The Rapture, and they were somehow bad for being left-behind, errr, leftovers. They are probably feeling very resentful towards Christian faith, being good all of their lives, with nothing to show for it.

Well, given the vast number of bodies in the facility (which is apparently for disposal, not "forensic processing"), I think we could be forgiven for jumping to that conclusion...

I get that, but if they believed before and they really believe it was the rapture then that means their belief in a God has been confirmed! Now is when you lose faith and don't try to redeem yourself?! Or am I missing something? Once the rapture happens that is it? Those left behind are lost for good? If THAT's the case I would imagine it to be so much worse, people doing anything they want, no rules (religion wise).

The other thing is they keep making a point (at least in the first few episodes) that there were both good and bad people taken. Perhaps the GR is foresaking religion for the fact that all they believed before makes no sense. If the Rapture (and I have no idea of what's supposed to happen as I'm not Christian) is supposed to take God's chosen people, the best of the best, and yet it was such a random mix of people who went, then what the heck does that mean? I'm thinking for them, it means whatever they were living for in the past is meaningless. Being a good parent, caring for your family, enjoying creature comforts and believing in God.....for what? It was pointless. So they forsake everything about life that used to have meaning.

I didn't really have any feelings one way or the other regarding the GR UNTIL they broke into people's homes! I'm still not sure if they stole the pictures or if they just removed them from the frames and left them. If they took them, I really don't care what bad stuff happens to them.

True, but the FBI took the body to investigate--essentially a more thorough investigation than a small town sheriff could manage. So they're burning it a short time later? Obviously they don't care who killed her.

Those who are left behind can still be saved. Anyone can be saved at any time by sincerely accepting Christ as their savior. The usual interpretation of VERY vague scriptures is that the Tribulation will start next and those left behind will have to endure bad stuff until they die. Then they are saved.

It seems to me that if the rapture happened like the conventional wisdom expects, it would be hard to tell by who is taken in the US. However, there are countries in the world with hardly any Christians in them. They should have way more people left than us, in fact most of them, and in those countries you pretty much know who the Christians are. If that isn't the case, then I'm going with aliens.

Correct. And the E wasn't added for the show. The agency is currently designated in the real world as the ATFE.

The government loves their alphabet soup.
