Cisco cablecard Copy Protection information screen Question

Roamio Pro Comcast Cisco CC

I've been getting random "Channel Not Authorized" from random tuners. TiVo support says that the CC is 'partially' paired. Comcast has unpaired re-paired and refreshed & re-authorized

Also the signal was at 100& w/ 42db. Unplugging the Comcast drop amp in the attic & daisy chaining splitters. & got the db into the recommended range.

TiVo support tells me that on the Cisco cablecard copy protection information screen 2nd column (see image) needs to have values between 0x0 and 0x7 inclusive. The values are still out of range, but not as excessively as before.

I would like to know what this column actually means and if getting another CC (the 3rd in the last 6 weeks) would help.

What is the firmware version on your card? You need 1.5.3.1101 or higher

Go to:
Settings & Messages > Account & System Info > CableCARD Decoder > CableCARD Options > CableCARD Menu > Cisco CableCARD Diag Screen

List the following:
H/W Model:
Bldr Ver:
OS Ver:
Build Time:

If you want to read through 38 pages about the issue:

List the following:
H/W Model: 0800 ver 0012
Bldr Ver: 124
OS Ver: PKEY1.5.2_F.p.3001
Build Time: Apr 12 2011 18:49:42

Looked at the thread you referenced, & it appears that my CC needs to be at PKEY 1.5.3_F.1101. Tweeted @comcastcares

Yes that firmware version is the cause of your issues, not any potential auth/pairing issue.

PKEY 1.5.3_F.0601 should also work in concert with the latest TiVo software. Not quite as good as the 1101, as the channels may take a little longer to tune while it reattempts the tune, which it eventually does.

Comcast updated the CC firmware to PKEY 1.5.3_F.p.1101. So far so good.

Values on the Cisco cablecard Copy Protection Information screen (mentioned in this thread's original msg) are still well out of range. But as long as that doesn't cause any problems, it's all academic.

Thanks for your help.

How did Comcast update the CC firmware? Over the network or did they send someone out with a new card?

Thanks
