Thanks - I actually ended up doing the repairs right on the machine in the season pass editor. All of the shows set to record mistakenly on channels in the 100s were wrong and needed to be in the 1000s. The channel numbers are seen in the SP editor list on the box, so I just went into each one of those - searched upcoming shows - and then Add A Season Pass - then deleted the old.
I could have done it online too as you mentioned but sometimes it takes 24 hours to update on the actual box and there were a number of upcoming things we wanted to make sure to catch.
It's sad that the editing of an individual SP doesn't allow one to change the channel it searches for episodes on - but whatever.
it's a pain if you had an SP for a show that is not currently airing
Yes, those that didn't have upcoming episodes are still in need of repair - so will constantly have to watch for them to start back up. This is another failing of Tivo SPs - one should be able to just put them in manually - so that all instances matching the user's values are picked up whenever they appear.
