The complementary color for purple is yellow, and red is the complement for green.

LOL. As a color scientist... purple and yellow make my head spin too. RGB or CMY. Can we keep it simple please?

From "www.colormatters.com":

The example they use is basically purple and green.

In the early 8-bit days of computing you often had such a limited palette to use that, for example on the Apple II you could have "orange and blue" OR you could have "purple and green" but you couldn't have both.

Edit: I forgot they broke Skitch and the image won't hotlink now.

.

Please do not "Fixed Your Post" on my posts. I find that rude and annoying. Thank you for your consideration.

You're both right, because there's two different color wheels, the one for additive light and the one for subtractive light.

I guess I don't understand this whole "complementary color" stuff. But I'd never use colors that wheel call complementary together. Then again, I'm a guy which by definition, according to my ex-wife, means I am not allowed to make any decisions regarding colors.

I'm afraid that wheel is too small to correctly portray the colors in the blue range. It may also be a difference in how you perceive the color purple. On that wheel purple is opposite yellow. You've identified a red-violet as being purple and while it looks purple in that graphic it's not really.

Finally got around to watching this. I know nothing about these characters; never read any of these comics (unless he appeared in an "Archie & Jughead"). So I'm a blank slate.

I enjoyed it. It kept me entertained, which is job #1 for a series like this. I assume as time goes by we'll get some island back-story to flesh out why he is what he is. And since I have no idea what the comics cover, I don't have to worry about staying true to any canon. I'm canonless.

Slight issue telling the difference between sister, girlfriend, ex-girlfriend?, etc. Didn't cause any problems though.

BTW, is he The Arrow or The Green Arrow?

Both. In the comics he's The Green Arrow. In this show apparently he's just The Arrow.

Yeah, so far, this season's new shows are mostly duds in my opinion. Nothing outstanding...
