Thumbs down iTiVo

iTiVo 1.7.7b3 won't open on my new MacBook Pro w/OS X 10.9. Get msg "TiVo" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Safari downloaded this file on November 9, 2013. I have TiVo Premier XL4.

Allow apps from unidentified developers to run on your Mac.
(Welcome to Mavericks!)

System Preferences -> Security & Privacy
General tab
Click the lock to enable changes on the page.
Select "anywhere" in the 'Allow apps downloaded from:' section.
