Getting On - HBO

This is another Americanized version of a British show, and it feels very much like the British version of The Office, expect more subtle than it would have been if Ricky Gervais had been involved.

Anyone watching?

PS: I immediately noticed the actress who played Millie Helper on the old Dick Van Dyke Show as one of the patients.

I watched the first episode but didn't find it interesting enough to continue. Spending half the show arguing about feces didn't work for me.

I watched the first episode and found it excruciatingly boring. I didn't see any potential that I might like it down the road so SP deleted.

I'm actually liking it. Has more of a documentary feel than The Office. The patient from hell who kept berating the new boss was pretty hilarious!

Laurie Metcalf is so good in this.

I have it on my watch list, recorded. Haven't seen it yet. Look forward to it, but from comments so far, it doesn't seem promising.

I'm watching because I like Alex Borstein, Laurie Metcalf, and Niecy Nash. But I must say - it has a weird cadence to it.

These three will keep me watching unless it goes really badly, but I'm rather enjoying it. I can see the dry, British, humor. I haven't seen the British version.

I couldn't make through the entire pilot. This show is not for me.

Watching this, I was actually trying to figure out who this show is geared toward (i.e the core audience). I couldn't figure it out. People who like poop?

For those who don't like it - what did you think of the British The Office?

I see a parallel in people trapped in a bureaucracy just trying to make sense of it all.

I really liked the British version of the Office, much more than the American version, which I stopped watching after a few episodes. But in The Office, I found a connection between the characters and me. Maybe it's the setting here, but it just didn't do it for me. I don't think I even cracked a smile.
