Music and Photos on a Mini?

Do Music and Photos from the TiVo Desktop app work on a Mini?

In System Info on the Mini, TiVo to Go shows as i,i,i,a. On the Roamio it's a,a,a,a.

Yes, the Music and Photos apps work (Pandora, pyTivo, TiVo Desktop, etc.) on the Mini.

Actually what I meant was the ability to access Music and Photos stored on a PC running TiVo Desktop. Doesn't work on the Mini - but fine on the Roamio.

According to this:

http://www.tivo.com/my-account/how-t...your-pc-or-mac

TiVo Desktop music and photos shares should work on the Mini. I don't really use TiVo Desktop, though, so I cannot personally confirm.

Don't know about Photos but I've used Music served up via pyTivo from a Mini previously without any issue.

Yeah, pyTiVo photos and music work fine, but TiVo Desktop apparently does not.

I just got my first Mini set up last night, and I couldn't get my pyTivo music and photo shares to show up. I was able to add Reversi via "Add an App", though. I haven't tried local HME yet.

Congrats on the new TiVo!

My pyTiVo music/photo shares appear (and work) but I don't remember if I had to do anything special to get them working. I'm using MoCA (not that that should matter).

Well, I know it wouldn't be the first time that a manual was printed with details of features that didn't make it into the final product (any of you ever play the old Sierra game Outpost?) but, according to the manual, you should be able to access photos and music from your PC. The info listed below is a direct quote from page 33 of the 2013 Tivo Mini DVR Companion Viewer's Guide.

Photos
You can watch slide shows of the digital photos stored on your PC, connect to your Picasa and Photobucket accounts to view photos stored there, and even watch home movies stored on your PC or Mac right on your TiVo Mini.
From the TiVo Central screen, select ‘Music & Photos’ for available options.

Music
With your TiVo Mini, you’ll have a constant supply of all your favorite music.
Stream music from your PC or Mac. Use the free TiVo Desktop application to stream your MP3 music library from your PC or Mac to any TiVo DVR in your home network.

All was well when I came back yesterday* -- I assume it just hadn't completed activation and got all the necessary permissions yet.

* I didn't come back to it until yesterday because at first, I'd been connecting it with an inappropriately-wired composite breakout cable, and I decided I should wait** for a good one. The wrong cable made the screen flicker with every sound. (It was supposedly an Xbox/Playstation cable, from GameStop.)

** And by "decided I should wait", I mean, I took apart the bad cable to rewire it, then couldn't be bothered.
