Expired Subscription

Hi All,

Does anyone know what would happen if one were to set up a TiVo Mini with a 4 tuner Premier TiVo and then cancel the Premier's service? Would the Mini still be able to use a tuner on the unsubscribed box?

It wouldn't work. Streaming would be disabled on the Premiere and you wouldn't even be able to access it from the Mini. The inly thing you can do with a disabled Premiere unit is watch the shows it's already recorded. All other functionality of the box will be disabled.

You can use it to watch live TV as well.

Yes, but streaming (MRS) is a function of the subscription and would be disabled as soon as your box was unsubbed.

Your Mini would be a brick, even it it maintained a sub...

From what I understand they even disable the 30 minute buffer in live TV now, so it's basically a glorified cable box with no service.
