SNL 11/2/13 - Kerry Washington/Eminem

I thought the cold open was great and I loved the "What does my girl say" parody. The "How's he doing?" skit was funny as well. The rest of the episode wasn't anything special.

Agreed on the great stuff (hasn't been much great lately so it was fun). Other than the motivational speaker, none of it was horrible. The news was pretty good too. Best overall non Timberlake show in a while.

OMG-cold open was GREAT!

..and Keenan won't?

Al Sharpton cameo!

How's he doing? is always great-"It's Sunday at 6 am..."
What if he converted?
To what?
Islam.
A-Salaam-Alecham, Barack!
How about Judaism?
Fine by me, Baruch!

Miss Universe pageant was scattered but made me laugh.
Hey, donkey-look who is having a bagel now-maybe I will ride YOU to work!

The Cartoon Network game show had one funny line-"I'd like to buy 100 extra-small condoms, please..."

Kerry was a good sport. Wish Eminem would have acted in a sketch-I bet he would be funny!

I thought that was Bryan Johnson from "Comic Book Men."

I really didn't like most of the episode. Although, the cold opening was one of the better ones in a while. During the Eminem performances, I couldn't even hear him rapping or whatever, although that could have been my TV since it doesn't have a center channel.

The cold open and "What Does My Girl Say" were hilarious.

The rest of it was meh.

For some reason my guide data had the show starting at 11:35 so I missed the cold open.

Nobody did the whole summary like they used to, so I don't remember which skit it was, but there was a VERY unfunny skit near the beginning.. Just really boring/time filler. The kind of thing I'd expect at 12:50.

This is the first one I've watched this season I think. I still have the rest recorded, just haven't watched 'em.

In my first time watching SNL back in the 80's, my first mental comment was that there were a lot of WHITE GUYS in the cast. Where's the diversity?

The funny thing is this year, there were only two white guys returning, but there are 5 NEW guys (and 1 woman) in the featuring cast. Again, where's the diversity?

This thread promoted me to pull up the NBC app and check out SNL. The opening, the "How is the President Doing?" sketches were very funny. The app didn't show the music segments so I'll need to look for them on YouTube.

There are different licensing rights about "broadcasting" the music on the internet through the app via on TV. Hulu will often be missing the musical acts too.

I listen to the NBC Nightly News audio podcast. I *also* tivo it as a backup... Mostly because basically any time there's an even vaguely pop culture related [movies, tv, music] segment, it's completely excised from the podcast. (Once in a rare while that's not true.. It seems to be related, but not always, to whether the show airs on NBC.. sometimes it seems to be left in..)
