I thought it was an all time great finale. Epic. Saved it and re-watched it the night of this season's premiere episode. (I have this thingy called a Tebow or something that does it for me)

Why are we spoilerizing things that happened in this episode?

First, why the heck didn't shaw shoot the guy in front of her in the tunnel when the left the girls listening post instead of turning around.

Unspoilering the non spoilers.

The equipment needed to do high speed copying probably isn't that easy to find that quickly. He probably would have a easier time finding one in New York than he would a lot of other places, but it would still take time to do.

Not to mention that Harold didn't have to rush the copying job because Reese had intention of turing over the tapes even if Shaw did.

I was thinking more along the lines of just using the tape recorder on, whats it call? cue? where you can still hear it playing fast and slowing it back down once its digitized.

I'm catching up with all of the episodes this weekend so just got to this one. I liked it quite a bit as well. Now we know Shaw's first name (at least this is the first time that I've heard it). Shahi is a great addition. I'd trade more Shaw screen time for less Fusco screen time any day.

But the one thing I don't get is why Root is such a bad ass. She's taken down Shaw once and she apparent does it again at the end of this episode? That doesn't seem right.

I wouldn't say Root is a badass, at all. Not like Shaw or Reese. But Root is very sneaky, is absolutely fearless, and has impeccable intel. That's an extremely formidable combination, even if you aren't much for hand-to-hand combat.

Plus she packs a mean tazer.

You don't remember Root kidnapping, binding, and torturing the old boss of the machine? Didn't she also shoot, or threaten, an innocent guy at the train station to get Harold to cooperate?

She also took out the guy who trained Shaw in an earlier episode so for someone who doesn't appear to have any combat training, she was able to disable two highly trained killers.

I don't recall there being much effort disabling the guy in charge of the machine. He was portrayed as a desk jockey/pencil pusher type. Didn't she just basically walk in and taze him while he was sitting at his desk? I don't remember her taking anyone out hand-to-hand. She has, as I said, excellent intel: real-time updates from the machine, as in exactly where to point her gun and exactly when to pull the trigger--for example when she escaped from the psych ward. She is not the worst shot, I'll grant you that, but she's nowhere near as good as Shaw or Reese.

I watched this episode in a couple of chunks (rare for a single episode), I think I fell asleep a couple of times.. I *think* I saw the whole thing, but now I'm realizing I don't remember various things..

1) What does the title of the episode mean?
2) This one I think I'm just forgetting -- what exactly was on the audiotapes? What did she record? I mean, I remember she was just trying to catch drug dealers, but caught someone else who went after her (the little girl)

I guess this is more of a comment than a question, but at the end, when the girl was talking about "you have feelings, it's just like the volume is turned too low", I thought that that was going to be a clue about the cassette tapes, in that there was hidden/low volume audio.

By recording various phone lines in the building she recorded the Roosian mob guys dealing with the corrupt HR cops.

Razgovor is a Russian word meaning dialogue or conversation. The episode title is taken from the 1974 film "The Conversation" starring Gene Hackman and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. In the film, a surveillance specialist finds a routine surveillance job is anything but routine when he discovers he may unwittingly be part of a plot to murder a woman and her lover.
I've been meaning to see The Conversation but haven't gotten around to it yet.
