Will tivo ever stream media from a computer like Apple tv vs transfer?

I have Apple TV and TiVo and I love both for individual reasons, hbo go is nice on Apple TV, Spotify is nice on TiVo.
Apple TV is nice because it doesn't have internal storage and playing a video is dependent on wifi connection.
TiVo to play a file on desktop you need to transfer it first but once it's there can play without buffering but then it takes space on your TiVo hard drive.

Curious if Tivo will ever stream media from a computer like Apple tv vs transfer and take up space.

Stream Baby Stream will do this today:

http://code.google.com/p/streambaby/

I am hoping for an app in the new Roamio line to handle this, but today - this is a great community developed tool.

Thank you, reading up on it now. Do I need pyTivoX?

It has nothing to do with pyTivo. pyTivoX is a GUI front-end, originally just for pyTivo (hence the name), later with Steambaby added to it. You don't need it for either of them, although some may find it helpful.
