Netflix UI Performance?

Can any new owners comment on the performance of the Netflix UI?

This is a real tripping point for me on my Premier XL. I rather switch inputs & remotes and use my AppleTV for this function, but would much prefer to stay within the TiVo eco system for this stuff.

Though, AirPlay gets lots of use for Torrented stuff off my MB Pro.

The Netflix UI is leaps and bounds better than the Premier. Not sure it is better than the ATV. But a significant improvement.

Smooth and easy. Plus you can navigate on the Netflix app on your phone but tell it to play on the TiVo.

Loads in about 9 seconds for me. Much improved over the Premiere (slow, crashy, unusable). I haven't used it a ton yet to speak about the stability, but I haven't had any hangs/crashes yet.

And if you use the netflix app on a device, you can "cast" a video to the Roamio to launch the app and video that way as well.

Does the Netflix app on the Roamio also have the "Netflix For Kids" option like the update to the Mini?

netflix app is working great and fast on my roamio pro. 1080p/24 working as well for some of the videos.

Does it scale to 1080P24 like the Mini or does it pass through the 1080P24 like the Premiere?

Interesting. At first glance, 9 seconds still seems too long. So, I went over to the XL4 and launched Netflix and ran a stopwatch app:

My 4 attempts: 55, 55, 63, 67 seconds (Cat5 wired internet).

That's a significant delta!! I watched 9 seconds tick by - that's pretty quick in reality.

Yeah it's not as long as it sounds. I've been in the same boat at you. I always switched over to a Roku 3. By comparison, the app loads in about 5 seconds on there, which is super-fast. But at this point a few seconds isn't a big deal, unless it turns out to be unstable which there aren't any reports of yet.

Mmm ... Not sure. I mean not everything is shown in 1080p/24 like a old tv show filmed on video in SD.

However when watching super hd content on my old premier the screen would flicker to black as it switched to 24p

On the Roamio I notice no flicker, and the stream starts instantly. Fastest netflix client I have ... Without doubt.

I have a fast connection though. 100Mbps down.
