S3 and MRV?

I'm pondering the thought of getting a Roamio at some point to replace the S3 as my main DVR. If I move the S3 to another room, will it act as a "Mini" and be able to stream shows from the Roamio DVR or is it too old? My S3 has a lifetime sub so I want to continue to use it, but consolidating recordings on one DVR is desirable.

No. You can transfer shows, but not stream. It takes about 30 minutes to transfer a 1hr show. You can start watching after a couple minutes, but I usually wait at least 10 so I can skip commercials.

Ah. I knew it was a good idea to ask here instead of relying on customer service.

Thanks for the reply!

If that S3 isn't already lifetimed, use the Roamio purchase as leverage to get the $99 lifetime deal on the S3.
