TiVo Premiere...completely new drive...pixilation
I replaced a bad, original drive on a 45hr TiVo Premiere (one of the very first). Used a WD AV 1TB drive, and rebuilt from scratch.
For a month or two, all was well. Recently, however, I've been getting pixilation problems, partial recordings, slow-to-respond interface and stalls. Once, a error saying "error C501" popped up.
Is it possible there was a software update from TiVo that didn't work, or are cable signal strength problems a better possibility? What kind of cable signal strength should I be looking for (Cox Orange County cable card).
Or, has the new drive begun buggering up somehow?
PS... the unit also went into some sort of self-imposed "repair" mode, where a green screen appeared, telling me that emergency repairs were under way and may take three hours to complete. The regular TiVo screen appeared in about an hour, actually
