Family Tree - New HBO series starts May 12th

Just saw this review on IGN.com

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/...the-box-review

Show stars Chris O'Dowd from IT Crowd and Bridesmaids. Show is made by Christopher Guest who did Spinal Tap, Best in Show, etc...

I will watch it because it is HBO and I loved IT Crowd. I pretty much hate anything Christopher Guest does. So, we will see what I think about it I guess.

I like O'Dowd and I've loved most of the Guest movies so I'm really looking forward to this.

Planning to check it out, but no SP set yet.

I'm really hoping that the cable channels will keep coming out with more comedies. Among other things, I really enjoy having a lot of sitcoms on deck and the networks are being idiots lately, what with cancelling a few really good shows.

set a season pass...heard chris guest on NPR talking about this....like his other stuff, no formal script at all. just an understanding of the outline of the story.

could be great.

We've seen both episodes so far and I love it!

I'm a sucker for the Christopher Guest mockumentaries anyway, but so far this is really good.

I'm not liking it. I went into my DVR to remove Rules of Engagement since that show was cancelled. I saw this show and almost deleted it as well. I've decided to give it one more episode.

The salt on the clavicle had me rolling. Perfect comedic timing.

I had this set to record and forgot about it. I started watching the first episode today, paused it and called out to my wife to come in and watch it with me. We were rolling with laughter through both episodes to date. We're big fans of Guest and love his humor. We'll be sure to watch more.

The second episode was much funnier than the first for me. I don't know how much of that date scene was improvised. I assume a lot of it, which is very impressive.

Now that I think of it, the girl that loved bones was pretty funny.

Watched the entire series over a few days with my wife. Thoughts...

1. Pissed that Amazon had it listed as 10 episodes. It's really only 8. The last two "episodes" are a trailer for the series and a behind the scenes or something.

2. The show started off a bit slow the first episode or two but REALLY took off after that. Genuinely funny stuff with great characters.

3. Damn you HBO for dropping this after 8 episodes!

I quit watching this show after like 4 or 5 episodes. I just couldn't get into it.

I just watched this over the past couple of weeks myself. Funny, funny stuff. The monkey killed me every single time. I'm irritated there won't be a second season.

Totally agree! LOVED the monkey. And, so much more materials with this show was possible. Very disappointed it wasn't renewed.

Monk was freakin' awesome and so well used. Not too much and not too little.

CRAP! That's annoying.

At least the series stands well on its own. I loved it.
