This jumper trick only works for Windows XP, not for anything else.
I have also read that this might just work for the 1st partition on those drives when used for XP. Since this is
a AV drive, that isn't the issue.
I ran WD's Lifeguard diagnostic utility, it passed the short test, but I couldn't even start the long test. It returned an error (0162 the 1st try & 0135 the 2nd try) as soon as I tried to start the long test. I tried a few other programs and they returned no
I contacted WD, they issues a RMA for the drive (2 year old).
I won't know until I get the replacement, but I believe WD's program can't read TiVo's proprietary file system since the other programs did, but I won''t know for sure until I get the replacement.
