"Failed" transfers to TiVo desktop all of a sudden

Until a few days ago transfers were done without any problem.

For the last 3 days I repeatedly get "Failed" when trying to transfer from TiVo to desktop with comment: "The system cannot find the file specified."

Can someone please explain and help me rectify this issue.

He actually said "Can someone please explain", which your "direct link to the fix" doesn't do. For an explanation, he needs more context.

Thanks to both of you (wmcbrine and steve614) for getting me to the right place.

I'm obviously fairly new to this.

All I need to do now is decide whether to wait for TiVo to fix this thing (which they should of course be expected to do) or try and see if I can attain the level of "Power user."

Indeed.

Seems the hardest part for some people has been in locating the curl.conf file.

The other problem is Windows doesn't recognize the file type and won't open it directly.
You have to know how to force Windows to use Notepad.

It should be noted that Windows 8 is a whole new ball game.

I somehow managed to fumble my way through it but I don't know if I could do it again.

If someone could provide a step by step, I would be very grateful.
