Were those real doughnut varieties? I'm certainly not an aficionado, but many of them sounded different from any doughnut/bar I've ever had. Honey dipped I think was one? I mean that one is pretty obvious, but there were others I'd never heard of.

She's pretty.. and also happens to be Chris Elliot's daughter.. (He plays Lily's father who takes care of the baby.. and used to be big on Letterman's show in the 80s.)

I'm sure Dave needed the work and Saget threw him a bone.

I loved the "cut it out" thing too, but didn't realize/remember he did it on Full House. Coulier was on a Nickelodeon show called Out of Control before Full House. He did the "cut it out" thing on that show too and I've always remembered him for it.

ETA: I thought this episode was great!!

I really liked this episode.

Took me a few minutes to realize that was Abby Elliot, I kept thinking she looked really familiar.

Yes, those are all popular at Tim's. The one point I feel they missed though is that, while we might have remembered which Tim's we were at (and what doughnut we were eating), it would never have been as simple as "the Tim's in Sudbury" - it would have been a very specific Tim's, and we would probably have driven past 2 or 3 to get to our favorite! For the record, I'm a Dutchie fan (glazed yeast doughnut with raisins)

Not all of them, but for the one that wasn't, Tim Horton's decided to go ahead and make it:

While it was a one-time batch... I would think that, if enough people request it, they would find a way to make more.

EDIT: Cobie Smulders tweeted that she wanted one which prompted TH to reply that when she comes back home to stop by and they'll make a batch for her.

I lol'd when Robin Sparkle's records went 'Maple' and 'Double Maple'.

"Squamish, British Columbia. Crammed a Timbit into a strawberry vanilla and invented 'The Priestley.' Should've been the best day of my life."

Here are the lyrics to the song:

I love the phrase "moosing down donuts". Cracks me up.

Nice.

Funny, on the stage they have a sign that reads "Consider questioning authority, please". Those darn Canadians are so nice!

BTW, didn't we learn from Let's All Go To The Mall that all videos made in Canada had to feature the Canadian Prime Minister? It was Brian Mulroney back when she did her first video. Or am I mis-remembering?

He was in it... but I don't know if it was mentioned why he was in it (or had to be); I know that it's a line in the song.

I had no idea about the Alanis/Coulier angle. That makes the episode even more perfect than I thought. Almost Community-worthy!

I also had no idea that Alanis was on "You can't do that on television"; a show that I loved and still wish was around so my kids would enjoy it. I do love TCF

Before there were Internet Forums, there was USENET used for discussion (it still exists, but not for discussion anymore). The thread speculating about Alanis "You Oughta Know" went through many months and thousands of messages.

I think you're missing the point, I barely know who Alanis is and I am 100% sure I would not recognize her even after she introduced herself to me. So the whole meta joke about her was totally lost on me, regardless of any discussion that had happened about her.

The "Community" I mentioned was the show, not discussion groups. It seemed like the kind of joke they would make.

Was this the first time the Robin/Alanis connection was made or was that obvious to others before?

I did enjoy the various Canadian references thrown in. (Having Barney sitting in a Tim Hortons.) I found myself explaining to my wife many of the Canadian references. And I have been to Guelph on business!

I think so. At least to me. Beforehand I had viewed Robin Sparkles as as more of a Canadian Debbie Gibson/Tiffany.

From what I understand, there's been no official reveal to date, but the most popular theory is that it's Coulier.

I was a big YCDTOT fan as well. I don't remember Alanis being on the show, but I guess she wasn't on it very long.

You can find some clips from the show on Youtube. I went out looking for some a couple years ago. Great seeing that old stuff again. Remember the cook Barf? "What do you think's in the burger??"

Well, Carly did officially tell one person, right? The one who won the auction?

Alanis will not say who the song is about, but Coulier has copped to it.
