MRS error: can't watch now

I have a Premiere and an XL4. The XL4 is using MOCA directly and the Premiere has a MOCA adapter on it.

MRS was working great with no problems.

My wireless router died so I got a Netgear WNDR4500 to replace it.

Ever since I got it about 75% of the time when I initiate the MRS from the Premiere it fails with an error of "can't watch now" and then the Premiere locks up completely and will not respond to the remote or app commands. I have to pull the plug and reboot it.

And then MRS will work fine for a while as long as we are watching shows.

It is obviously something with the new router but I cannot find any settings that seem to fix it.

Any ideas?

The only things I could find related to Multicast in the router were:

IGPM Proxying (which was disabled by default)
RIP Version (which was disabled by default)

I enabled IGPM proxy and set the rip version to 2M. I'll let you know if it makes any difference. Thanks for the help

I ditched my netgear router (wndr3700) due to multicast issues with the TiVos. Nothing consistently worked and I was able to prove it was the netgear by replacing it with an asus router. Prior to that I was blaming everything else on the network. Ultimately it appears the netgear router was dropping packets related to bonjour and multicast "randomly". If I reset the router it would work for like 30 min and then go back to trouble mode.

I emailed netgear multiple times and they indicated that I had an "unsupported" setup. (i.e. 2 TiVos and a bunch of computers).

I would try a different router, especially since that is what recently changed.

The router actually shipped with the latest firmware, altho I have thought about downgrading it.

So far changing the multicast seems to be working, so fingers crossed that fixed the issue.

I'm using a Netgear WNDR 3700, and neither of my Premieres is having a problem streaming from the other. Both are wired ethernet (i.e. not using WiFi) if that helps.
