Angry TivoDesktopPlus won't install

I've had TivoDesktop 2.8.3 for quite a while. (Windows 7) Today I purchased the code for the upgrade to Desktop Plus. However, when I go to help/purchase upgrade/and enter the code, I get the message, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." ... "enter a path to a folder containing the installation package TiVoDesktop2.8.3.msi".
I cannot find any file with that name. The installation package for 2.8.3 is TivoDesktop2.8.3.exe - NOT .msi

I have re-downloaded Tivo Desktop and reinstalled to no avail. Now what?

BTW - by default, it's looking for the .msi file in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\ - I hope it doesn't expect anything in a TEMP folder to stay around forever!

The installer keeps a copy of the MSI in the main Desktop folder.

"C:\Program Files\TiVo\Desktop" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\TiVo\Desktop"

The original installation is done from the TEMP folder, but the copy should work.

Smile

Thank you - that was easy - when you know what you're doing! Will have to write to TIVO about their silly default to a Temp directory (I clear all my temp directories regularly). - HerbVB

That might bite you in the long run unless you do it carefully. More and more companies seem to leave stuff that's crucial to a Repair or Uninstall in the temp directory even though that's not very smart.
