Question PLSR Code: Need Help

Hi, I have had an HR10-250 from D* for many years, (and I upgraded it to 1.5TB too). I recently was effected by the random rebooting bug that hit all the older DIRECTivos, and when they pushed the patch out, it bricked my unit. It started a reboot loop from gray Welcome to almost there to gray Welcome. I figured now is the time to cut the cord and I ordered a new 2 tuner Premiere from Tivo so I can get OTA signals.

It hasn't arrived yet but it shows in my Tivo Account. I wanted to do lifetime with the PLSR code discount so I ordered with the 14.99 monthly. My account currently shows:

Your current plan:
Monthly service
1 yr commitment Plan rate
Premiere, Monthly - 1 year $14.99
Effective date 11/28/2012
Commitment end date 11/27/2013

I can go in and odere the lifetime upgrade and I can put in a promotion code, but when I type in PLSR and click Apply this Code, the page refreshes and nothing changes. It still shows $499.99.

Is PLSR dead? Just when I decide to buy? Anything else I can do or try?

PLSR is still alive. I just used it an hour ago.

Does this discount show before or when you checkout? For me it did not show when I applied the code or on the next page. I didn't continue farther.

This is what it shows me. I'm pretty sure that isn't right. It wants an extra 200 on top for the unit to activate lifetime...

TiVo DVR TiVo service Tax Subtotal
Current price $99.99 $14.99 $5.00 $119.98
New price $299.99 $499.99 $15.00 $814.98
$200.00 $485.00 $10.00 Total charge: $695.00

No info from anyone? Do I need to wait for 30 days after buying? Then if the code works or not I'll have already paid $15 for monthly...

You could always call TiVo on the phone.

Don't wait out the 30 days. That's your buyer-remorse cancellation period, and once it's over you're locked into a 1-year commitment at monthly rates.

I called Tivo and they said the PLSR code is not valid... This is why I hate calling. Asked me if I read it on a blog or something. Not sure what to do now. The webside still wants to charge me $695. Over the phone it is $485 (499-$15 already paid). Any advice on what I can do now?

I think I am going to roll the dice with trying this online AFTER my 30 day recision period. I read the following on promotioncode.org for the PLSR code:

Quote:
12/27/10 01:01:46 PM EST by : This code is for current subscribers. HOWEVER - if you subscribe, pay for one month, then use it -- it'll work.
I already paid for the 1 month, with the purchase, but I think I may just need to get through that 30 days, so that I am making a change to my account, and not to my purchase.

I'm willing to risk the extra $15 to potentially save $85, and gain some knowlege I can pass on to others here, whether it works or not.

I purchased my XL4 in August. Signed up for month to month service. About two weeks into the month, logged back in, signed up for lifetime, and used the PLSR code successfully. This is my only Tivo and got the $15 off I had already paid that month. So it was a $385 one time fee.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Did you buy from Tivo.com or a retailer? My purchase was from Tivo directly, and it still wants $695 to add PLS... I'll keep checking daily.

So, it has been 31 days since my premier was activated. I was finally able to go in and use the code to get $399 lifetime (after I got past the 30 day recision period.) In case anyone else ever needs to know.

Two years ago when I bought TiVo
There was a lot of comments on this
Board that TiVo said plsr was no longer
valid combined by comments that said
It was valid .
I was able to use it. Not sure but you
May need to complete the entire checkout
Process for it to apply.
