Can not link Tivos to Amazon anymore

Since Tuesday morning, my 3 Tivo units have not been able to link accounts with Amazon - for downloading instant video.
Amazon reps say this is a Tivo related issue and they (Amazon) can not help until Tivo fixes whatever went bad.

Anyone here have any suggestions or know what is going on?

Tivo chat support only states it is a known issue and there is no time frame for a fix.

Thanks...

You're in the right forum, but most people won't reply if they don't have a real answer for you. Believe it or not, it's a good thing. I would recommend calling TiVo Costumer Support to see if they can help.

Sorry missed that. Typical of these types of things. Amazon says get with Tivo.

Re: Cannot link Tivos to Amazon

Thanks for responses.
For anyone looking for an update this is what Amazon has told me this morning.
Tivo has supplied code patch. Amazon must now patch their code to be compatible to the new Tivo code.
The Amazon code is in engineering review. No time estimate for resolution.

I'll post back when I can link system accounts.
I'm posting this here because Amazon said this was a wide spread problem- but I have not found much discussion anywhere yet.

I also ran into this issue today... When I tried to rent an Amazon Video, the screen switched to a new screen asking me to "Link my Amazon account to this DVR". After I tried to link the account, and failed, I called TiVo Support. The tech was not aware of any issue and recommended that I try to UNLINK the TiVo from my Amazon account, and to call Amazon if this didn't fix it. Well, this process failed as well, so I reached out to Amazon Cust Svc.

My Amazon Support person was aware of the Account Linking Issue with TiVo. He reported that a number of TiVo folks have been hit by it this week, and that there is an internal Amazon Engineering ticket that has been open since Oct 5th. Just as you stated tcat60, he told me there is no updated status yet and it looked like the Amazon engineers were still reworking some internal code.

I should have looked here first and avoided all the trouble, however as a consolation, Amazon gave a free video!

First off I really like this forum.

I'm having trouble linking my amazon account. I get an invalid request, after entering amazon account information, manage tivo account password and a 5 digit code.

I checked my Tivo account to see if I had enabled video downloads.

I checked my Amazon account and only saw one DVR there an older HD XL that I still own and use. I tried refreshing the list of DVR's from within Amazon and if failed to list the newer TiVo Premiere XL4.

I unlinked the account from Amazon and I still cannot successfully relink.

I keep getting a Tivo error screen "invalidRequest".

Are you entering the 5-digit code that Amazon already has for you (settings page in Amazon Instant Video)? Also, on your TiVo account are the two checkboxes for Downloads and TTG checked -- for the Tivo in question?

I couldn't download Amazon videos a while back and talked to their support three times. They told me it was being worked on and each rep said they would email me about progress. Never got any email but eventually the problem went away. I suspect the problem was TiVo's servers that Amazon has to interact with to authorize or command a download.

Yes all that is in order

I finally called Tivo and then acknowledged there is an issue, would most likely be fixed in the 'fall' update. Sigh.

Bummer! Did they offer an adjustment of your subscription cost until it's fixed?
