So there will definitely be some episode deducted from the BBC America broadcast?

likely not the first airing, but if you record it and see more than 10 minutes of ads, it's been edited.

My guide shows a couple of specials on Friday night (technically Saturday Morning), which are probably worth picking up:
12:00 (midnight): The Science of Doctor Who
1:00 AM The Women of Doctor Who
2:00 AM The Timey-Wimey of Doctor Who
3:00 AM The Destinations of Doctor Who
My SP didn't pick them up, so i added them manually

Those have been airing on Saturday nights for the past month. I've seen the first couple, and they're a cut above what this sort of thing generally tends to be...basically, it's relatively low-level celebrities who are Doctor Who fans talking about the topic of the week, often in surprisingly smart and insightful ways.

I've watched all of these and I thought they were very good. These types of shows usually bore me, but as Rob said, they've been very insightful.

Almost entirely the new series. There are occasional shout-outs to old-series stuff, but not many.

This may be common knowledge to all of you, but I haven't seen it mentioned:

Starting Saturday at 7am BBCA will be showing Series 6 in it's entirety, leading up to the 9pm showing of the new Series Premiere. Better stock up on the fish fingers and custard....

Just because it's in a 50-minute time slot on the BBC One schedule listing doesn't mean it's exactly 50 minutes long -- it could be 46 minutes and followed by 4 minutes of promos, or something similar.

The point was mostly, it's not a 110 minute episode that will be squeazed into a 60 minute slot here, as has been done previously.

1:10 (70 mins) I would believe they might try to squeeze into 60 mins. 110 mins - uh-uh.

Having watched Pond Life (the Amy & Rory Pond web miniseries), without giving any spoilers...is it me, or was Matt Smith drunk for a couple of the narrations?

Is it worth watching?

Note that, among other things, any instances of Amy in a skimpy outfit will qualify a "yes" response.

It's about 6 minutes for all 5 parts.

It has a surprisingly important development, but that development will be easily folded into the regular series for the benefit of those who miss this...

No skimpy outfits, regrettably.

Rory has become such a pushover, now Amy is calling him Mr. Pond.

Well, the Doctor's called him that ever since they married...he tried "correcting" him for a while, but finally gave up.

I just finished all five parts of Pond Life and I would suggest watching it. Funny and unsettling at the same time.

It does answer at least one question that was asked earlier in another web episode.

Spoiler:
We learn that The Doctor does have to change the bulb on top of the TARDIS

Actually it was made clear he was taking her name. It's not completely uncommon in the UK.

I loved the Ood

This is the 5 of them back to back

Then why did he keep correcting the Doctor when he called him "Rory Pond"?

WARNING... WARNING... WARNING...

If you have comcast, and are in the Northeast, check your Tivo's.

In the past week, Comcast pushed out the lineup information for BBCAHD in many areas. It's in the guide. But, in many areas, it's not actually active yet (black screen).

If you're in one of these areas, and you use a WishList for your Doctor Who recording, your tivo will have switched from BBCA to BBCAHD, and the wishlist will think it's recording the premier in HD, when it's only recording black...

If you have a wishlist for Doctor Who that switches to BBCAHD, *and* a Season Pass for just BBCA, the wishlist may block the season pass from recording on the correct channel.

Had I not caught that today, my tivo would have recorded nothing for me this evening...
